Digital Arts Academy for the Deaf LLP (DAAD) Digital Arts Academy for the Deaf LLP (DAAD)

Digital Arts Academy for the Deaf LLP (DAAD)is transforming the landscape of education for India’s 18 million Deaf individuals. Founded by four Deaf women entrepreneurs, DAAD is bridging the significant education gap within the Deaf community by offering accessible technical education in Indian Sign Language (ISL). The platform is dedicated to creating inclusive learning opportunities, empowering Deaf students with the skills they need to thrive in various professional fields.

The initiative’s business model is tailored to meet the unique needs of Deaf learners. DAAD provides direct online training via live and recorded classes, accessible through a subscription-based fee. They also offer customized courses for schools, colleges, and institutions to support Deaf learners, and a membership-based platform for educational institutions to integrate Deaf-specific learning modules. These services are designed with sign language, subtitles, and visual aids, ensuring that all learners can engage fully with the content.

The impact of DAAD is already significant, enabling Deaf individuals to acquire technical skills, prepare for competitive exams, and enhance language proficiency. Through its upcoming course expansions, which will include video editing, email communication in English, and higher studies preparation, DAAD is set to equip Deaf students with job-relevant skills, opening new career opportunities and fostering independence.

DAAD is not just an education platform; it is a movement to create a more inclusive and equitable society for the Deaf community. By providing Deaf-friendly, high-quality educational resources, DAAD is helping to close the gap between the Deaf community and mainstream opportunities, empowering them to excel and make their mark in the world.
